BELT TEST
Bay Area White Crane Silat trainers follow the teaching methods and standard system of movements established by the PGB Pusat in Bogor, Indonesia.  PGB has 18 belts ranging from white (new student) to gold (grandmaster).  

Expect to spend at least 6 months training for each beginning to intermediate level up to the light blue belt, then a minimum of 1 year for advanced training for each level through the second degree black belt.  

A student may begin studying to become a trainer after obtaining a light brown belt.

Black belts tests are only conducted at the Pusat in Bogor, Indonesia.  Only the Grandmaster, Suhu Gunawan Rahardja, has the authority to award black belts signifying full trainer status.  

Bay Area White Crane Silat usually hosts at least one belt test every year.
The next Western Regional PGB-WCS belt test POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
 Students interested in taking a belt test should confer with their trainers at least three months before the belt test date.
Trainers are asked to forward lists of participants to belt test organizers at least a month before the test.
